Undergraduate degree in nursing, health sciences, another health profession. A minimum of 5 years of responsible leadership roles in health informatics and change implementation. A minimum of 10 years of direct clinical experience in Surgical Services & Anesthesia (pre-admission, day surgery, operating room, post-anesthesia care) or related areas. Registration and membership in good standing with an appropriate regulated health professional (i.e., CRNA). Extensive knowledge and understanding of clinical practice and workflows along with Alberta Health Services as a provincial organization. Minimum 10 years of progressive responsibility in leading organizational change for programs or organizations of significant size and complexity, including management and leadership experience. Significant experience in the application of change and implementation tools and methodologies. Certifications related to management, leadership, and change management (PROSCI certified). Good working knowledge of clinical services, information technology and AHS systems. Strong leadership skills as characterized by recent and relevant references.
Additional Required Qualifications:Proven project management, change management, leadership and communication skills (ability to plan, lead meetings, prioritize, facilitate, resolve conflicts, communicate issues/ resolutions). Ability to actively and positively lead, participate and negotiate solutions to resolve conflicts that arise during readiness, implementation and launch. Ability to lead other IT and clinical operations staff through complex discussions and negotiate solutions. Detail-oriented and able to explicate information to fully understand the underlying end-user needs and system design. Ability to work in a team and individually to build and maintain positive working relationships with CORe Leader, IT Application leads and team, Training leads, and Zone/ site/ provincial stakeholders. Strong time management skills and the ability to meet project deadlines. Working knowledge of basic clinical information systems principles, theories and concepts. A clear pattern of professional and personal development. Self-motivated requiring little supervision. Although this is a remote-work office job, it will take significant psychological capacity given the nature, profile and expectation of Connect Care work. It will also require physical stamina given the expected stakeholder engagement and pre and post-launch onsite work that may involve significant provincial travel, meetings at varied times of day (early morning/evening/weekends).
Preferred Qualifications:5 years of experience in planning, implementing and executing provincial clinical change or improvement initiatives with local site/ Zone teams. Advanced knowledge, skills, and application of implementation science, knowledge translation to action, and/or change theories, models, and frameworks.
