Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current or recent (with 6-12 months) acute care experience is required. We will consider recent (within 3-6 months) acute care practicums. Grade 12 diploma. HCA certificate or equivalent training. Demonstrated effective Interpersonal and Communication Skills. Demonstrated ability to read and speak English fluently. Demonstrated prioritization and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to work within a team and autonomously. Demonstrated emphasis on Infection Prevention and Control practices including hand hygiene. Basic computer skills are required. Current BCLS-HCP certification. Ability to manage the job classification of “heavy physical demand” level as per the AHS Job Demands Summary. Ability to wear an AHS fit-tested N95 respirator when required.
Preferred Qualifications:Proven ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Strength in Areas of: Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving, Organization and Time Management. Ability to Contribute as Team Member, Learn within a Dynamic Environment and Adapt/Cope with Change. Demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with Connect Care and clinical documentation standards.
