Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager in Child & Adolescent Addictions and Mental Health & Psychiatry Program (CAAMHPP) Specialized Services at the Emerging Adult Treatment Clinic within Recovery Alberta, this Social Worker II (SWII) position serves Emerging Adults and their families who present with complex and co-morbid mental health disorders and associated cognitive and emotional issues. This position combines a clinical and coordinator/case management role and is the position responsible for facilitating timely, family-centered and consistent responses to service requests and referrals received for the Emerging Adult Service. The role provides patients and service providers with early program services, case management support and information regarding other support services and may include: triage, case management support, psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, risk screening, counselling, and transition planning. The candidates must be able to work independently with a high degree of judgement and must be able to work effectively as part of an interprofessional team and commit to strengthening team dynamics by actively facilitating interprofessional collaboration to enhance this populations outcomes. This position also supports and facilitates the provision of orientation, skill-building, DBT and Interpersonal Groups, and other program group interventions and is flexible to support walk-in clients. The SWII has concurrent disorder training and significant experience with Mental Health and Addictions. The position is currently assigned to the Emerging Adult Service but may be reassigned to any service/clinic within the Emerging Adult Initiative as operationally needed.

Description:

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

3-5 years experience working with Adolescents and/or Emerging Adults in a Mental Health Program. Demonstrated knowledge of DSM V required. Experience with Addictions and Concurrent disorder trained. Experience working with Parents of Adolescents and Emerging Adults required. Demonstrated knowledge of Community and Health Care resources required. Demonstrated Clinical skills in assessment, intervention, system navigation and case management required. Experience working as a member of a team required. Knowledge of Community and external services in the Calgary area required. Experience and/or training providing DBT required. Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Collaborative Problem Solving Skills trained preferred. Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service experience an asset. Experience working in intensive settings in Mental Health preferred. Connect trained preferred. Brain Story certification preferred. Trauma-informed training preferred.
