Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in a health, planning or management related discipline (although a Master’s degree is preferred). Equivalencies of education and experience will be considered. A minimum of five to seven years progressively responsible experience in health service planning, management, evaluation, quality improvement or clinical role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is necessary. Healthcare experience is important. The successful candidate has shown a demonstrated, clear pattern of professional development. The senior planner has a robust "planning toolkit" that includes a range of skills and competencies necessary to effectively plan and execute projects. These skills include strong project management abilities, the ability to conceptualize a project plan and draft relevant planning documents such as project charters, work plans, and reports. Additionally, the senior planner possesses the ability to gather, analyze, and present relevant health service planning and demographic data, which is critical to inform the planning work.

Additional Required Qualifications:

The senior planner is skilled at conveying messages simply and concisely to a diverse range of audiences and platforms, including reports, presentations, and briefing notes. Additionally, the senior planner possesses the ability to research and identify new and ongoing health system opportunities and challenges. The senior planner also possesses strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with strong time management skills. Their experience and knowledge in change management frameworks, as well as expertise in facilitation, collaboration, presentation, and engagement, are critical for successful project execution. The successful candidate may occasionally have other duties as assigned, to support projects within the Planning & Performance portfolio, but outside of our System & Service Planning team in order to assist with organizational priorities under tight timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Training in health system or health service planning or project management would be an asset.
