Paramedic Diploma from an accredited institution. Current registration as an EMT-P in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics.
Additional Required Qualifications:5+ years of Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) experience. Experience with curriculum development, procedure development project management, change management and quality improvement. Experience in the delivery of clinical and adult educational material. Familiarity with education technologies/programs (Adobe In-Design, Captivate, Lectora, etc.) is an asset. Demonstrated strength in verbal and written communication. Strong interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills. Depth and breadth of understanding of EMS operations, administration and support services obtained from clinical experience, committee and project teamwork. Instructional design for blended learning approach using online, distance and face to face models of training. Interpretive skill and a high degree of analysis using logical, evaluative, scientific and professional thinking, complex analysis and highly developed reasoning and planning skill to solve a wide range of business and operational problems. Ability to provide technical and professional advice and guidance in areas not specifically outlined by established programs or policies. Persuasion, influence, and negotiation in developing coalitions, partnerships and collaborative relationships with officials of external organizations, to achieve their program objectives and overall business plan goals.
Preferred Qualifications:Post-secondary education or University Degree in a related field is an asset, with preference to have an education-related focus. Professional experience with IEHPs and addressing their barriers to practice. Experience as an international hire. Clinical instructor experience preferred. Ability to anticipate need for change to training with new policies, procedures, equipment; with ability to assess the requirements and identify innovative solutions.
