A recognized post-secondary degree in a health-related discipline. Minimum 5 years’ healthcare experience in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working with Indigenous Peoples in a healthcare capacity. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with using or managing clinical information systems is required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of AHS computer programs/systems such Connect Care, Netcare and Microsoft Office. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated proficiency in the English language, both written and oral required. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal growth. Experience in initiating and fostering positive relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to build strong customer relationships and to facilitate change. Considerable skill is needed to balance diverse and, occasionally conflicting, stakeholder interests. Considerable experience in complex problem solving, negotiation, concerns/conflict resolution and investigation/negotiation. Ability to think systematically and critically. Demonstrated understanding of analytical and evaluation techniques for quality improvement and benefits realization. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant health information standards, data interrelationships and dependencies among various health information systems. Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience and expertise in facilitating presentations to persuade, influence and convey information or transfer knowledge. Experience with teaching adult learners. Preferred Qualifications:
Regulation as a health professional. Experience in health informatics. Experience in providing direct patient care, preferably within the health setting is considered an asset. EPIC ambulatory software knowledge/experience strongly desired. Experience in an Indigenous Community and/or Indigenous Health setting. Knowledge of and sensitivity around the culture, health issues, treaty rights, jurisdictional issues, historical impact of the urban and rural Indigenous Peoples/communities in Alberta.
