Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:2+ years clinical trials experience. Experience with gastrointestinal cancer disease, diagnosis and treatment. Experience with the delivery of chemotherapy/biotherapy/cancer treatments, knowledge of mechanisms of action and their adverse event profiles. 2-3 years recent nursing experience in Medical/Radiation Oncology. Comprehensive patient assessment, management and intervention skills. Preference will be given to those with O-PREP or ONDEC oncology training. Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrated time management and organization skills; flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment while managing multiple patients or projects. Effective oral and written communication. Good computer skills and experience using electronic medical charts or patient management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate preparation. Clinical trials membership or certification (e.g. SoCRA, ACRP). Good Clinical Practice, ICH and Health Canada Regulatory training will be required if not current.
