Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:Previous experience working on an interdisciplinary team. Two or more years of previous experience working in a tertiary acute care setting (0.5 FTE or higher). Basic computer skills (MS office, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:One year or more RN experience in the last 5 at RFH. One year RN experience in the last 5, in an acute pediatric (peds) setting. 1 or more years, in the last 7, working in peds; palliative care, oncology, NICU, PICU, or intensive palliative care unit/palliative home care. Charge RN in the past 2 years. Experience with peds non/invasive ventilation. Experience working with HCAs. CNA specialty work (CpedN/CHPCN). How to Care, What to Say certificate. Committee member (QI etc). Connect Care skill.
