Project Manager
Your Opportunity:
The HPV Primary Project Manager will lead project partners in the pre-implementation planning for the transition to HPV Primary screening. The goal of this project is to ensure operational and health system readiness to facilitate adoption of HPV primary screening. The HPV primary project manager will support the following project deliverables: Develop a business case in collaboration with laboratory, economics, finance teams and other stakeholders, with the aim of driving policy and funding approvals from Alberta Health Services and Alberta Health. Coordinate the updates to cervical screening clinical practice guidelines. Build awareness and develop educational resources about HPV primary screening among eligible populations, primary care providers, and colposcopists. Facilitate database and clinical IT systems optimization for HPV results and develop e-correspondence communication strategy. Develop HPV primary implementation plan for both interim (phase II) and overall provincial transitions. Co-host community engagement sessions with priority populations. Lead working groups in the development of program operations documents, reporting and evaluation plans. The HPV Primary Project Manager plays a key role by providing leadership to the project team and working groups through all stages of the project: planning & guiding work schedule and workflow to achieve deliverables; manage ongoing revisions to processes, tools, guidelines and resources; monitor and act on solutions for risks and issues with implementation; and support mitigation & transition planning. The position works with external partners, internal partners, and primary care physicians to achieve project goals. This is a temporary full-time position till August 2026, reports to the Program Manager of the Alberta Cervical Cancer Screening Program.

Clinical background with a minimum of a master’s degree in public health or related health related field and minimum of 5 years' experience in health services planning, coordination, system design, writing technical briefs (briefing notes, business case) or program management. Equivalencies of education and experience will be considered.

Demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to connect effectively with diverse audiences/stakeholders. Highly organizational and well-developed project management skills, overseeing multiple projects and services concurrently. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, adept at analyzing and resolving challenges. Experience in fostering collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and engaging wide range of stakeholders. Skilled in addressing complex health issues and leading change initiatives to achieve desired outcomes. Experience with working with priority populations and tailoring solutions to meet their unique needs. Consistently committed to both professional and personal development. Knowledgeable in applying best practices and leveraging internal and external business insights to enhance stakeholder engagement and service delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:Skilled in change management, with a track record of guiding teams through transitions. Operational experience in public health, public policy or health administration is a valuable asset. Experience in program management, managing multiple programs/services simultaneously. Adept at working with multiple provincial level committees contributing to policy development and strategic initiatives. Highly flexible, creative and able to adapt easily to a changing environment.
