Masters degree required in health, health promotion, or related field. A minimum 3-5 years of experience in a leadership and program planning role, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity (healthcare experience an asset). A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Progressive leadership experience in a health environment, including 3-5 years experience in a leadership role in reproductive, early childhood, and youth health and/or population health promotion. Demonstrated depth and breadth of knowledge related to health promotion. Ability to plan, organize and manage short- and long-term plans and projects and deliver on results. Demonstrated effectiveness and ability to initiate, implement and support new or modified approaches, practices, and processes in a changing environment. Strong track record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation amongst, and build solid relationships within teams, with AHS program areas, community agencies, and other partners. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching, and teaching, and the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals. Advanced communication, facilitation and negotiation or skills with strong ability to engage diverse stakeholders and facilitate collaboration. Demonstrated knowledge management skills and ability to synthesize, analyze and present complex information. Demonstrated evaluation skills. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Registration with an appropriate Alberta Regulated Health Profession, as applicable.
