Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Painter Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
Additional Required Qualifications:Successful completion of Grade XII. Must be able to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing. Must be willing to upgrade education in a changing environment. Must be able to use required equipment and tools related to painting. Must be able to read blueprints and locate operational data from operating/maintenance manuals. Must complete repairs and installations with due consideration to patients, staff and visitors. Must be able to organize workloads and ensure duties are completed in a timely manner. Intermediate technical/professional experience required (i.e. 3-5 years). Five years painting experience, with two in an institutional setting required. Must be familiar with a variety of painting tools, equipment and techniques used in the maintenance program. Cooperative and willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis. Strong interpersonal skills and able to work effectively independently or in a team setting. Basic computer skills.
