Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year experience (within the last 2 years) in acute care medical nursing. Fluent with Connect Care (EPIC) Current N95 Fit Test preferred and it’s your move. Experience with the following skills: chest tubes, Patient Controlled Analgesia, blood transfusions, Peripherally Inserted Catheter, VAC Therapy. Ability to be self-directed and exercises independent decision making, nursing judgment and critical thinking skills. Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a dynamic environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. Actively integrates patient and family centered care principles within own nursing practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification. Consideration may be given to nursing graduate students who have completed a final focus on an acute care medical unit.
