The Assistant Manager for Allied Health will work to provide direct supervision to the RAH Social Work Department and support Rehabilitation, Spiritual care and psychology as needed. The Social Work department serves patients in women's health, outpatient Northern Alberta program, outpatient Home Enteral program, inpatient medicine, orthopedics, critical care, cardiology, Surgery, transition units and the Emergency Department. The RAH Allied Health department strives for a healthy, balanced work and personal life for all of it's team members and offers access to an on-site fitness facility with classes, bike lockers, and close access to public transit.
Description:
You will be accountable for providing direction, leadership, planning, implementing and evaluating a range of services and working closely with an interdisciplinary team of managers across various programs. You will be responsible for day to day operations including budget accountability, recruitment, payroll, staff evaluations, work attendance, and work performance. As manager, you will be involved in the development and delivery of client and family focused care approaches. Provide leadership through effective communication, ethical decision making, commitment to established goals and objectives, ensuring outcome measurement and enforcing standards. Contribute to the formulation of policies, developing and implementing programs. Identify key challenges and opportunities and provide leadership to support the development of innovative approaches to service delivery that aligns with the larger AHS vision. Foster a healthy workplace with commitment to evidence based, quality client care and family involvement and support when appropriate. Ensure the delivery of services in a way that maximizes capacity to deliver quality care to a diverse population.

Master’s degree in related field required, or a bachelor’s degree with several years of relevant clinical and leadership experience. Appropriate college licensing in place and current. Minimum 3 years in a leadership/management role in a program/site of significant size, diversity and complexity required. Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience in an acute care facility of significant size. Demonstration of a clear pattern of professional and personal development and proven track record of success in health leadership. Progressive leadership experience in health services delivery, including practical experience in change leadership, and project management. Strategic thinker, taking into account long-term goals, assessment of options and analysis of implications. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, client focused orientation and commitment to providing long term and sustainable quality services. Leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage human, financial and physical resources.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work, or bachelor's degree of SW and greater than 3 years clinical experience as a Social worker in an acute facility of significant size and complexity, with progressive leadership experience is preferred. Experience working with marginalized populations interacting with the healthcare system required.
