Administrative Support IV
Your Opportunity:
The Integrated Surgical Instrument Management (ISIM) clerk is responsible for extensive data input requirements for the Provincial Instrument Tracking application for 18+ provincial sites. The position, working with minimal guidance, ensures data are accurately, effectively and efficiently entered. The position uses medical device reprocessing knowledge and skills to support the team. The position evaluates reprocessed product requests for existing products, accuracy of product, and assigns product descriptions using established provincial protocol. The position escalates issues to the ISIM team as appropriate. This position communicates and sustains team working relationships. Prioritize, enter and validate reprocessed and implant product information, including images, into the application for surgical services. Updates the MDRD reprocessed item application content to support MDRD standards, and site MDRD operations. The clerical update workload supports accurate reprocessed item and location lists and supports reprocessed item accuracy for electronic OR preference cards where sites are interfaced to electronic perioperative application(s). Ensure re-processed products input meets naming standards, match vendor product information, include attributes such as sterilization cycles, cleaning instructions and location. Provides online / telephone support to site MDRD(s). Provides team communication messages, reception duties and meeting organization (e.g. agendas, minutes, room reservations as requested). Assists with orientation and ongoing training for new and existing clerical staff. Reviews site data to ensure naming standards are sustained, audit and follow-up on discrepancies. Maintains an organized, standardized up-to-date filing system, and office duties including supplies and alternate payroll services.

Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in business administration, medical office assistant), or other related fields. Must have Medical Device Reprocessing certificate from an accredited institution and in good standing. Must have certificate in word processing, spreadsheet and project documentation (Visio) and a working knowledge of image capture and electronic file management. Medical terminology certification.
Preferred Qualifications:Business administration or unit clerk certificate an asset. Demonstrated written and spoken communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Minimum of 2 years acute care MDRD experience, preferably as a working leader.
