Administrative Support IV
Your Opportunity:
Under the supervision of the Unit Manager and working with the Zone FAST (Facilitated Access to Specialized Treatment) Central Access Registered Nurse, the Administrative Support IV - independently manages complex referrals/consults and performs clerical, computer and data entry duties to support the surgical patient's clinical journey from central intake through to surgical OR date. The Administrative Support IV is responsible to receive consults, referrals for data entry and appropriate forward for triage. The Administrative Support also contacts patients in a timely and accurate manner with various dates, times and instructions related to their surgical procedure. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and manage potentially difficult conversations with patients who may be stressed or unwell. Accuracy is required in order to ensure that all information is relayed and understood by patients. The Zone FAST Administrative Support liaises with surgeon's offices, PCN’s, inputs data into referral databases and is also responsible for the preparation of statistical data reports. These positions are zone based with responsibilities within the associated zone leadership.

Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum of three years related experience with a variety of surgical service specialties is required. Minimum of three years acute care nursing experience in an operating / procedural or surgical unit is required. Demonstrated competency in Office software including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong skills in communication (written and oral), time management and problem solving. Must type at least 50 w.p.m. Accuracy and attention to detail essential.
Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of Alberta Health Services systems and processes including Netcare/ eReferral. Understanding path to care referral management timestamps T2-T5. Previous FAST experience.
