Your Opportunity:

The Administrative Support IV will be out of the South Health Campus in the Diagnostic Imaging Central Scheduling office. The SHC has four key pillars of service: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Innovation. These pillars are guiding the development and delivery of service to all patients and families at SHC. Working under the general direction of the area supervisor, the Administrative Support IV performs reception and patient appointment scheduling for the Diagnostic Imaging department. This position’s assigned work includes greeting patients, patient documentation, order entry, telephone coverage, electronic scheduling patients and assisting with the technical staff when required and will work closely with other areas within the Diagnostic Imaging department at South Health Campus and across the zone. Responsible for working all shifts as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Accurate and proficient Keyboarding skills, 35 wpm required. Typing test will be required. Absolute attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent knowledge of the English language both written and oral. Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional image, manage stressful situations with empathy and to remain calm, courteous, sensitive and tactful at all times. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Skilled at paying close attention to detail. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Able to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work all shifts based on operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent Diagnostic Imaging experience preferred. Previous electronic Diagnostic Imaging Scheduling experience preferred. Minimum 3 months recent experience in a hospital or medical environment, involved in booking, reception and clerical duties preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in Windows (Word, Excel, Internet, and Email) preferred. Prior experience working with the public preferred. Equipment troubleshooting, printer, fax, PC. preferred.
