Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to provide a high level of customer service. Ability to analyze, problem solve and make discretionary decisions in compliance with provincial and federal legislation, AHS (Alberta Health Services) policy, and AHS Legal & Privacy. Technical aptitude for information systems, computer applications, and navigating between multiple electronic sources. Technical aptitude for computer applications, such as: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Adobe Knowledge of basic office equipment, including fax, photocopier, personal computer, and multi-line telephones. Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a high volume, high paced and ever-changing work environment. English language skills in reading, writing and comprehension and effective oral and written communication required. Must be self-motivated and independent. Must possess conflict management skills. Possess a high level of decision making and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Medical Office Assistant Certificate, Hospital Unit Clerk Certificate, Health Information Office Assistant. Medical terminology certificate. 1-3 years' experience working in a medical office. Keyboarding skills with a minimum typing speed of 45 wpm. A typing test and an assessment based on medical terminology will be administered for selected candidates.
