Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a PhD with a population health, cancer prevention, implementation science, epidemiologic, or health services research focus. A minimum of 5 years applied research experience as an independent investigator with a record of publications and grant acquisitions. A minimum of 4 years of progressive leadership experience in or collaborating with a complex health care organization. Demonstrated experience communicating and networking in a complex, multidisciplinary professional environment. An academic appointment in a health-related faculty (can be adjunct). Additional Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with diplomacy, leadership, strategic thinking, organization, and the ability to build consensus, maintain objectives, and focus on achieving goals and supporting others in achieving goals while balancing competing priorities. Expertise in development and achieving funding success in applied research grants as well as successful conduct of these studies. Proven experience in the use of Implementation Science and Community-engaged research frameworks and methods. A track record of understanding and conducting applied research in health care settings and an understanding of points of integration across health care delivery workflows. Deep knowledge and understanding of working across various sectors in public health care to enable effective implementation of innovative approaches. Adaptable written and verbal communication for scientific, operational, executive and lay audiences. Experience in fostering collaboration and developing and sustaining partnerships with academic partners, community partners, health care leaders and providers, and researchers. Proven experience managing and mentoring professional staff including coaching, teaching, inspiring and building confidence in others. Professional experience engaging with Change Management and Project Management practices in the creation of innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Alberta’s Strategic Clinical Networks. Knowledge of cultural humility and openness to key concepts of research collaboration with Indigenous Peoples in Canada. Understanding of Alberta Health Services and service delivery workflows. Experience working in dyad decision making structures. Expertise in quantitative or mixed methodologies. Experience with Quality Improvement initiatives in healthcare, workplace health, or other industries.
