Description:

The Unit Manager for the David Schiff NICU is responsible in ensuring the delivery of high-quality and safe patient care by effectively managing human, material, and financial resources. This position participates in a collaborative approach to planning and decision-making among key internal and external stakeholders and serves as a role model for patient and family centered care, respectful relationships, and positive communication. The Unit Manager maintains open and timely communication with patients, staff, the multidisciplinary team, and the Patient Care Manager. They are responsible for actively identifying and addressing concerns and ensuring the safe delivery of patient care though a leadership role in quality and safety initiatives. The roles and responsibilities of this role may evolve according to program priorities and growth.

Required Qualifications:

Active registration and practice permit with the appropriate regulatory body (CRNA, CRTA or other). Graduation from a recognized Baccalaureate Nursing education or equivalent diploma / degree in health-related program. Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care experience, preferably in a pediatric or neonatal setting. Basic Cardiac Life Support for Health Care Providers (BCLS-HCP) certification.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Effective management, delegation, and prioritization skills. Strong leadership abilities, promoting collaboration, conflict resolution, and change implementation. Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and ability to effect and sustain change. Dedication to quality improvement initiatives, patient flow, and appropriate resource allocation.


Preferred Qualifications:

Unit Manager experience within previous 3 years preferred. Neonatal or Pediatric experience preferred.
