Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have successfully completed a recognized course in medical terminology. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Current Inpatient Surgical Unit Clerk experience required. SCM and Clinibase experience required. Must possess interpersonal skills to effectively and accurately manage communication with patients, family members, unit staff and other health care professionals. Must have demonstrated exceptional organization skills, able to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Handwriting must be neat and legible. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to walk between multiple units to ensure 4 PACU departments are supplied with supplies such as paper, requisitions and other items needed to operate the department. Must be well organized, able to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Proven ability to provide clear communication, concise and accurate message taking. Must be able to take directions and multi task in a very busy department.

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic computer skills required such as Microsoft office highly recommended.
