Reporting to the Unit Manager of Addictions & Mental Health, the Unit Clerk will act as the center of communication for the unit and will be providing clerical/organizational support for the nursing unit which include, but not limited to, reception, chart preparation and maintenance, processing orders, ordering and maintaining office supplies and data entry. This individual will handle all information in a confidential manner. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Familiar with email and internet. Good communication and organizational skills required. The ability to take directions as required and to work independently under general supervision. An understanding and sensitivity to the confidential nature of the information received and communicated is required. Experience in Inpatient Addiction and Mental Health. Knowledge of Connect Care training required.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in Addiction and Mental preferred. Unit Clerk experience 1-2 years.
