Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Graduate from a recognized Unit Clerk course, including medical terminology, or equivalent and/or acceptable previous experience is required. Experience with Connect Care and Work Queue processes required. Minimum of 1-year recent (within 2 years) experience in a Unit Clerk position in an emergency department setting. Comprehensive understanding of patient and family centered care with a demonstrated ability to enhance the patient care experience.
Preferred Qualifications:2 years experience working with computers and applications such as Office and Excel. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work with minimal direction. Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities. Demonstrated attention to detail in work performance.
