Your Opportunity:
Calling Unit Clerks looking for an exciting opportunity in Red Deer! The Unit Clerk position is essential to the smooth and efficient operation of the unit. As the initial contact person, the Unit Clerk is instrumental in facilitating communication between nursing and other health disciplines, departments, and patients and families. The Unit Clerk provides ongoing assistance to nursing, medical and other staff concerning the administrative and procedural working of the endoscopy department. Must be well organized and able to maintain good staff relations and behave in a courteous manner with all hospital personnel, patients and their families. Must maintain confidentiality with staff, patients and their families.
Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Abilitiy to withstand the physical demands of the job. Long periods of computer data entry, lifting of heavy paper boxes and escorting patients and families within the department and outside of the department.
Preferred Qualifications:2 or more years within the last 5 of Unit Clerk Experience an asset. Connect Care experience.
