Your Opportunity:
Reporting to Site Manager and Care Manager, and working under the direction of the charge nurse, the unit Clerk – Long Term Care and Emergency is responsible for the facilitation and the coordination of activity and information on the nursing unit in order that needs of the patient care are met in an effective manner. The unit Clerk is required to perform complex and specialized clerical duties that require extensive knowledge of the department, organization, policies, procedures and standards. Please note this position is out of the Canmore General Hospital 100km west of Calgary.
Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Recent unit clerk experience or recent experience performing similar duties preferably in the health care field. Proficiency and accurate computer skills including data entry. Specific working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel). Connect Care training.
Preferred Qualifications:Medical terminology course. Connect care experience.
