Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Qualifications:Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Minimum typing speed 40 wpm. Ability to operate a computer terminal. Ability to prioritize and organize workload within a dynamic work environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Initiative, flexibility, and dependability in organizing and carrying out duties. Thoroughness and attention to detail. Demonstrated pleasant manner in relationships with patients, physicians, staff and public. Demonstrated responsibility in dealing with confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in clerical duties in a medical environment.
