Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Current experience within the last two (2) years as a Unit Clerk in an acute care inpatient or outpatient surgical setting. Demonstrated computer skills required with current knowledge and experience with software programs such as Connect Care, Excel, Word, ESP, Netcare, Internet, and email. Demonstrated effective communication skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Demonstrated high functioning time management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and cope with frequent interruptions in a changing environment. Experience working with diverse communities, groups and/or organizations (i.e. ethno-cultural, equity-setting, racialized, faith-based, LGBTQ2S+, vulnerable, marginalized, persons with disabilities, and persons across all age groups, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:Completion of Medical Office Assistant or Unit Clerk program. Previous experience with Health Information Management (HIM) or Document Management. Demonstrated reliability to attend scheduled shifts and attention to detail. Indigenous Awareness and Sensitivity Training. Demonstrated positive and effective interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and independence in a team atmosphere. Demonstrated ability to adapt towards change.
