Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk course, or equivalent and / or acceptable previous experience, required. Medical terminology, required. Excellent telephone skills and the ability to communication effectively, required. Proficient use of the English language, both verbally and in writing. Ability to remain focused in stressful acute patient situations, required. Good mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position, required.
Preferred Qualifications:Ability to multi task, an asset. Computer experience required, knowledge of Clinibase preferred; Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Connect Care an asset. Four (4) years recent experience in a Unit Clerk position required; Emergency / Urgent Care experience preferred.
