ALB00484004 Requisition #

Your Opportunity:

Undergraduate Nurse Positions are available on all units in the Adult Inpatient Program (Adult Psychiatry), Brain Injury, Seniors Mental Health and VOPD (Virtual Opioid Dependency Program) at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury. The Undergraduate Nursing Employee (UNE) provides a range of patient care services specific to the assigned area as an unregulated worker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or other regulated health professional designate. The UNE practices clinical skills that they have had instruction and has demonstrated competence. This is an opportunity to develop further competency in the range and complexity of nurse practice. UNEs are excluded from employment in a practice setting where they are assigned a student clinical preceptorship. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you agree to and will become an employee of Recovery Alberta.

Description:

The Undergraduate Nursing Employee (UNE) position provides an opportunity for the nursing student employed as a UNE to consolidate the knowledge and skill acquired in their approved nursing education program towards competency in the range and complexity of Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) practice. The UNE is an unregulated member of the collaborative health care team who provides patient centred care with the supervision of the RN or RPN. The nursing activities performed, and level of supervision required are determined by legislation, standards of supervision outlined by regulatory colleges, Alberta Health Services (AHS) policy, educational preparation, practice setting, complexity of the patient, level of risk involved, and competency of the UNE.
