Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

2-year Diploma in Recreation Therapy/Rehabilitation field. Previous experience working in clinical/rehabilitation setting and/ or with persons who have disabilities. Must be capable of transferring patients and portering patients with pushing/pulling wheelchair both indoors, in water/pool and outdoors. Effective communication with a patient centered focus. Demonstrating behaviors consistent with the values of AHS: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and safety. Completion of Life Savings National Lifeguarding certification and Intermediate First aid certification. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience instructing aquatic classes or lessons both adult and children an asset. Swim Instructor Certification or Aqua fit instructor certification an asset. Equivalent education and work experience will be considered. Rehabilitation experience is preferred. Connect Care experience is preferred.
