Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

As the successful candidate, you will be expected to be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team including families and school partners. Self-direction and independent decision making, sound clinical judgment and critical thinking skills. Time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to function effectively within a dynamic, fast paced, multidisciplinary environment. Actively integrate patient and family centered care principles in all areas of practice including clinical decision making and effective communication. Demonstrate problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. Basic knowledge of computers and software applications (i.e. Microsoft Office). Demonstrate commitment to and participation in activities which promote professional and personal growth and development. Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the values of AHS: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and safety. Identify and engage in program development initiatives. Practice according to clinical practice standards. TAs are involved in a variety of programs and some evening work may be required. This position is community based and may require working out of other community sites as need. Minimum of 2 years recent experience working with children. Experience working in a community rehabilitation setting.
