Completion of a post-secondary education in a related trade or technology program.
Additional Required Qualifications:High School education or equivalent along with Journeyman Certificate (Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Trade Certificate). May consider Electronic / Instrumentation Trade Certificate with relevant experience. Preference will be given to those who possess a 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate or higher. Must have a minimum of two years post graduate experience working in a maintenance environment and experience working in a hospital environment. Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required. A good understanding and working experience with computers and computer applications such as computerized maintenance management systems, Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel. Basic understanding of knowledge of indoor air quality, HVAC system troubleshooting and ability to review drawings and specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills required to successfully analyze and resolve system related problems. Must have good interpersonal skills and complete repairs and installations with due consideration to patients, staff and visitors.
