Your Opportunity:

Assisted Living Alberta is dedicated to Enhancing Care in the Community, helping people be healthy, well and independent in their homes and communities. Edmonton Zone Continuing Care provides services through five main program areas: Home Living, Supportive Living, Facility Living, Transition Services and Palliative Care. The Team Support Coordinator provides leadership & direction across Continuing Care for the application of recruitment, staff orientation, staff scheduling and time keeping, staff education, workplace health and safety, and information systems such as e-People and RMS. The Coordinator requires expert knowledge of: Principles, practices, and procedures related to ALA and Continuing Care including applicable policies, standards, laws and regulations. Computer applications related to the work, including e-People and RMS. HR related policies and procedures. Collective agreements, including UNA, HSAA, AUPE GSS, and AUPE AUX.

Description:

Identifying and informing recruitment needs and ethical workflow processes. Effectively representing AHS in meetings and liaison activities. Interpreting policies, standards, laws, regulations, and codes. Communicating effectively with senior management, co-workers, subordinates, the general public, representatives of organizations and others sufficient to exchange or convey information and receive work direction. Conceptual and analytical thinking and processing to critically assess information and to synthesize large volumes of information in order to draw meaningful and relevant conclusions.

Required Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree is required. Experience with interpreting collective agreements is required. Minimum of 3 years experience in recruitment, staff orientation, staff scheduling, and timekeeping is required. Experience working in an administrative setting with progressively more responsible roles. Principles and practices of effective supervision. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively. Effective time management skills with the ability to interpret needs. Proven ability to negotiate effectively and build consensus. At the time of interview, you may be required to demonstrate your computer knowledge and proficiency by completing a hands-on assessment. You must demonstrate sufficient typing speed to meet workload demand and navigate through various computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Visio, Outlook and Internet.
