Coordinator II
Your Opportunity:
Reporting to a Manager in Furnishings & Equipment, Capital Projects, the Logistics Technician/Installation Coordinator (IC) is responsible for multiple related activities that support and contribute to the successful planning, receiving coordination, expediting, marshaling and deployment of the Furnishings and Equipment (F&E) required for various capital projects and provincial initiatives. This posting is for a 6-month temporary, full time position. The IC supports the F&E Project Team under the direction of a Team Lead to develop a F&E Delivery & Install Execution plan, F&E Deployment Schedule, ensures accuracy of F&E installation codes as well as tracking and reporting on all F&E items required for all Capital Projects and initiatives. The IC must have excellent written and oral communication skills and is responsible to interact directly with Alberta Infrastructure and Alberta Health Services staff, contractors, installers, suppliers & vendors, etc., to schedule &/or reschedule deliveries, assist in receiving activities where required as well as physical relocation/moving, unpacking & assembly of all required furnishings & equipment (where applicable). The IC must be able to interpret design drawings, tender documents, equipment technical data sheets, room data sheets and vendor shop drawings. In addition the IC will be required to plan for and coordinate incoming clinical / operational & safety inspections, scheduling/coordinating & moving all new or transferred (with infrastructure impact) furnishings and equipment to required final location, as well as tracking/tagging & record management of all F&E items, for all capital projects and initiatives.

Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Priority consideration will be given to the applicant who has obtained their Journeyman status with several years of work experience. The successful applicant has: 1-3 years hospital clinical experience (or similar) with an understanding of clinical practices & patient care, ability to understand clinical & medical terminology, Strong proven keyboarding/data entry, computing, communication & writing skills ability to read and interpret design drawings, engineering specifications & contract documents, Knowledge of design & construction comfortable working with clinical staff, senior mgmt, physicians, vendors, external consultants, architects and AHS executives, Government of Alberta ministries, etc. Experience as a Project Coordinator in the construction or manufacturing industries is a definite asset. The successful candidate must: Perform effectively in a high pressure, project-based work environment with frequent workload changes & competing demands/deadlines Perform repetitive work according to set procedures Perform with frequent interruptions &/or distractions Adapt to frequent changes in workload and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate Set priorities and prioritize assignments which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities & project deliverables to complete heavy workload within established time frames Work independently & follow through on assignments
Preferred Qualifications:Candidate comfortable working in a high pressured, dynamic environment w/ strong critical thinking skills, who welcomes social interaction with colleagues. travel for project deliverables, teambuilding, staff meetings & other day to day activities. Regular travel throughout AB, for consecutive days/weeks to meet project deliverables required, winter driving conditions Must be able to carry an object 30kg, lift a 10kg item from the floor to above shoulder height & move large heavy objects.
