Your Opportunity:
Health Shared Services (HSS) provides vital services to clinical and non-clinical teams across Alberta’s healthcare system and works alongside provincial health agencies and corporations, providing expertise, systems and resources related to finance, procurement, information technology, human resources, workplace health and safety, privacy, legal and other shared corporate and support services. As part of the HSS organization, HR and Provincial Staff Scheduling Shared Services (HR & PSS SS) provides pay and benefit administration and scheduling of employees working in provincial health agencies and corporations. In addition to performing transactions related to pay, benefits and scheduling, HR & PSS SS supports the systems used for these transactions including: e-People (HR information system used in pay and benefit administration), the RMS (recruitment management system) and MySchedule Infor WFM (staff scheduling system), and users of these systems.
Description:
The Senior Advisor is an integral partner within HR & PSS SS as they support communications for those focused on operations, systems, processes and/or the training and change management functions within HR & PSS SS. This role will lead a small team responsible for the design, development and delivery of communications. Other key partners for this role include communications professionals in Health Shared Services (HSS) and other provincial health corporations (PHCs). This position will work remotely initially but may be required to work out of an office location in the future. Key responsibilities include: Establishing, adapting and/or adhering to communication processes and standards that produce timely, accurate and audience-appropriate communications sent on behalf of HR & PSS SS. Designing, developing and coordinating communication plans to support operations, business processes, change management and/or training for all e-People, RMS and/or MySchedule (Infor WFM) changes and projects. Partnering with subject matter experts on content creation and interacting with department leaders for approval of communication activities. Developing and maintaining collaborative and client service-oriented relationships with other communication professionals in HSS and other PHCs. Coordinating the communications activities with other work produced in the two training and change management teams (e-People/RMS and MySchedule). Managing a small team focused on operational, systems and business process related communications.

Completion of a post-secondary degree in Communications, Change Management, Adult Education or Human Resources. A minimum of five years of related experience within large and complex organizations, including experience with leading communications work including developing and executing communications plans, developing processes, standards and tools. One to three years of experience leading a small team. Effective with balancing multiple deliverables and quickly adapting to changing information and priorities. Proven ability to foster collaborative and client-service oriented relationships with a variety of colleagues in multiple organizations.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Working knowledge of HR and/or Scheduling systems (PeopleSoft, InforWFM, recruitment management systems). Certified in change management and familiarity with change management methodologies. Effective in working with a variety of subject matter experts, including senior leaders, and demonstrated ability to transpose technical content into audience-appropriate messaging. Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and other tools used for communication.
