Your Opportunity:

You’re an organized problem-solver who can think on your feet – and think like a surgeon. Combining surgical processor training with a solid knowledge foundation of surgical procedures, the equipment required, and special cases that may come up, Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for someone like you for the role of Operating Room (OR) Supply Coordinator. This essential member of the OR team ensures that the surgical team has the tools, materials, implants, and single-use items necessary for scheduled and emergency surgeries. You’ll work closely with the surgical team, stores, vendor representatives, and medical device reprocessing technicians (MDRT’s) to maintain appropriate stocks of surgical supplies, ensuring optimum patient care. This may include coordinating “loaner” sets between different departments/facilities, requisitioning of direct purchases, maintenance of consignment inventories, tracking of all supplies, and reviewing of OR slates. The Sturgeon Community Hospital serves the City of St. Albert, north Edmonton, and Sturgeon County and is located in St. Albert (pop. approx. 66,000) immediately north of Edmonton. The second-largest city in the Edmonton Metropolitan area, St. Albert is rich in history, with great amenities, sports and leisure opportunities, K-12 public, Catholic, and Francophone schools, and over 100 parks and playgrounds, many connected by the winding Red Willow trail system. The thriving arts scene includes music, visual, and performing arts and a writer’s guild. Find your fit in St. Albert! AHS is Canada’s first and largest province-wide, fully-integrated health system and is a top employer nationally and provincially, as well as a top employer for young people and diversity. Come join our team and work for a supportive employer with competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth!
