A Degree in Architecture with the appropriate license and designation is preferred. Alternatively, a Degree in Healthcare Administration/Management, Urban/City Planning, or Master of Business Administration with a capital planning or healthcare background may be considered. The successful incumbent will possess a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in architectural planning and design in a professional capacity, preferably on healthcare or related projects.
Additional Required Qualifications:
This role requires a number of unique skills; comprehensive architectural, capital and or healthcare planning. An understanding of healthcare infrastructure and healthcare delivery/operations/systems including knowledge of best practice standards combined with the ability to search out creative solutions to complex and challenging problems. The successful applicant will have working knowledge of AutoCAD and familiarity with Building Codes. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects of significant complexity and duration is also required. Important interpersonal skills are valued to facilitate input by a diverse group of professional and non-professional health care staff, as well as Senior AHS Executive and external consultants, municipal agencies, community associations, foundation boards etc. on complex, occasionally confrontational, confidential, emotional, and/or stressful issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in operational planning, process engineering or a functional planning role within an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity is desirable.
