Your Opportunity:
Under supervision performs moderately complex clerical and manual duties involved in the shipping, receiving, warehousing, auditing and distribution of pharmaceuticals, supplies and equipment in accordance with set guidelines and standards. Performs a variety of routine tasks including but not limited to: Answering shipping/receiving doors Facilitating incoming and outgoing deliveries within the zone Crossdocking of totes/coolers within the zone Arranges incoming and outgoing shipments as well as transports pharmacy items between pharmacy, patient care areas and other departments Triaging and receiving shipments received Moves shipments from the shipping docks to the receiving areas Inspects delivered items, unpacks, sorts and shelves received items as per procedures Maintains and manages stock rotation within the warehouse and dispensary Orders and receives medical/surgical supplies according to set quotas and procedures Monitors pharmacy inventory and supplies for outdated products Replenishment of stock to inventory area from warehouse area Places barcoded stock in appropriate warehouse or inventory locations Labels/barcodes inventory according to established procedures Builds interactive relationships with all members of the healthcare team including communicating with site pharmacy staff Performs and completes daily operations efficiently, accurately and safely within strict timelines Provides guidance to and assists with the training and orientation of staff and students Maintains department records, statistics and prepares reports as required Participates in hospital and/or departmental quality assurance/improvement activities to ensure standards are maintained Performs other duties deemed necessary or as assigned
Description:
As a Stores I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the picking, packaging, shipping and receiving of orders for hospital supplies, equipment and/or food in accordance with AHS guidelines and standards. You will process incoming requisitions and distribute supplies, complete cart audits for quality assurance and communicates frequently with stakeholders to ensure appropriate and correct quantity of supplies are available. In addition, you will track and report on inventory to ensure over stocking does not occur.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Must be capable of pushing and pulling heavy wheeled carts up to and occasionally exceeding 275 Kgs. Must be capable of walking and or standing for long periods of time. Must regularly use hand and arms to reach, lift, and carry heavy items up to 25 kg.
Additional Required Qualifications:Grade 12 or equivalent Recent experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing and material handling within a hospital setting Recent experience with computerized inventory control software Required to work sitting at a desk/computer or to stand for extended periods of time Required to lift up to 30 lb and occasionally 50 lb Required to push/pull carts
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with computers, Microsoft software, data input Certificate of training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training in Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to multi-task Demonstrated ability work within multi-disciplinary teams Committed to continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning
