A minimum of a Master’s (Doctorate preferred) degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, bio/health informatics, social sciences or health services research required. Equivalencies based on training and work experience may be considered. A minimum of 5 years of experience conducting complex statistical analyses on large health datasets for epidemiologic and/or health services research required. Proficient in the use of tools for extracting, compiling and manipulating data from large administrative databases (SQL Developer, SQL Management Studio) required. Demonstrated aptitude for utilizing different analytic software packages and learning programming languages (e.g., SQL, SAS, Visual Basic, MDX, Java) required. Proficient in the use of SAS, R, S-Plus or STATA required. Other statistical software may be considered.
Additional Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. Experience managing multidisciplinary projects that involve multiple stakeholders. Proven ability to liaise with senior leaders in health care, researchers, planners, and senior administrators throughout AHS, Universities, Alberta Health and outside agencies and organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using Tableau is an asset. Experience in geographical information sciences is an asset. Knowledge of quantitative research methodologies and bio statistical analyses including conducting scientific and epidemiologic investigations and translating evidence for informed decision making.
