Spiritual Health Practitioner formal education is comprised of two essential components: both graduate degree and clinical training: Master’s in Theology and/or Spirituality/Religion or a clinically related field with confirmation of educational equivalency obtained from the Academic Assessment Committee of the national professional association, Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association canadienne de soins spirituels, (CASC/ACSS). 2nd Advanced Level, Clinical Psychospiritual Education (CPE) with commitment toward certification as a spiritual care practitioner, (CASC/ACSS) within three years.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Membership or Associate Membership with Canadian Association for Spiritual Care/Association canadienne de soins spirituels, (CASC/ACSS). CASC/ACSS Certified Spiritual Care Practitioner, certification equivalency or eligibility for certification. Connect Care Training and Experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Connect Care Training and Experience. Experience working with pediatric populations (patient and family). Experience with critical care and palliation. Sound self-awareness and self-care practices in the context of exceptionally challenging work that includes strong emotions, distress, risk of vicarious trauma,
