Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology is required. Current registration with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists & Audiologists is required. Heart and stroke CPR (BCLS-HCP) certification is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated problem-solving, planning and organizational skills are essential. Greater than 6 months experience with dysphagia in an adult acute care population is required. Experience completing Videofluoroscopic swallowing studies independently is required. Experience working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team is required. Demonstration of strong critical thinking is required. Ability to assist with patient transfers and repositioning is required. Ability to tolerate wearing a lead vest for up to 30 minutes is required. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with the complex medical patient populations (end of life, chronic disease management, post ICU, dementia) is an asset. Instrumental assessment (VFSS) competence is an asset. Basic computer skills, and familiarity with Netcare, Outlook and other electronic medical records are preferred.
