Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required. Active registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists & Audiologists is required. Heart and stroke CPR (BCLS-HCP) certification is required. Greater than 6 months of experience with dysphagia in an adult outpatient or acute care population is required. Greater than 6 months of experience with complex oropharyngeal dysphagia, head and neck cancer is required. Experience completing Videofluoroscopic swallowing studies independently is required. Demonstration of strong clinical reasoning is required. Experience working successfully as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated problem-solving, planning and organizational skills are essential. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Must have the knowledge and ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook). Experience with Connect Care is preferred. Must have the ability to assist with patient transfers and repositioning. Must be able to tolerate wearing a lead vest for up to 30 minutes.

Preferred Qualifications:

Greater than 6 months experience with complex oropharyngeal dysphagia, head and neck cancer is preferred.
