Recovery Alberta has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker Professional Clinical Practice Lead (SWIII) who will support front line staff in the Acute Adult Inpatient Units at CCMHBI. Reporting to the Director of AIP, you will be in a key leadership role which is responsible for coaching, mentoring and supervising social workers, ensuring services are provided in a culturally safe environment and that all who are involved are treated with dignity and respect, while fostering networks and partnerships to establish standards of practice and achieve goals and priorities within the department. This position will be leading the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of services in AIP and communicating clinical program issues and staff support needs with the Unit Managers. As a member of the AIP Social Work team, you will work collaboratively with other social workers, allied health members, Unit Managers, Clinical Educators, front-line staff and other department leaders to support excellence in patient and family centered care. This position will act as a key resource for staff and managers for evidence-based practices, professional standards and ethics, as well as legislative requirements for the profession. This position participates and leads quality improvement initiatives, evaluation and knowledge translation activities based on patient, population, and service sector needs.

Description:

As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Full registration with the Alberta College of Social workers. Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in a related area. Demonstrated clear pattern of professionalism and personal development as indicated by Team leadership skills, including a demonstrated ability in coaching and mentorship. Experience and knowledge of Adult Inpatient Psychiatry practices. Authorization to perform Psychosocial interventions.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition, the incumbent shall possess a record of accomplishment in the following areas; Demonstrated ability to guide and lead a team. Build Partnerships and Foster Effective Relationships. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and address and resolve complex issues and practice concerns. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change within a complex healthcare environment.
