Completion of master's degree in Social Work. (equivalent education or experience may be considered). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with members of the interdisciplinary team, patients and families in a dynamic health care setting. Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently organize and prioritize workload to keep pace in a busy multi-disciplinary patient care. Recent experience in crisis intervention and working with patients/families facing chronic and/or life-threatening illness required. Demonstrates behaviours consistent with the values of AHS – Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Safety. Experience working with diverse communities, groups and/or organizations (i.e., ethno-cultural, equity-setting, racialized, faith-based, LGBTQ2S+, vulnerable, marginalized, persons with disabilities, and persons across all age groups, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience working in an emergency department is an asset. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Social Worker in an acute care setting is an asset. Previous Connect Care training an asset. Training in motivational interviewing is an asset.
