Reporting to the Unit Manager, as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, the Social Worker II facilitates the adjustment of clients/patients and family to the psychosocial results of mental health issues and/or developmental problems. Duties include providing client care in terms of case management, education, treatment, advocacy, resource finding, consultation and discharge planning for patients and their families within assigned programs/units. The Social Worker uses individual, family and group therapy interventions and also participates in non-client care activities including program planning, resource development, evaluation, quality improvement, research and staff development. Group facilitation and patient engagement are key aspects to being successful in this position. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:1 – 2 years related Child & Adolescent Mental Health experience required. BLS Level C HCP Required. NCI mandatory (courses will be provided). Must possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to function in an interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:Strong skills in time management, organization and prioritization of workload. Strong knowledge of community resources. Experience with dealing with complex patient and family issues/dynamics and placement challenges preferred.
