Your Opportunity:

Henwood Treatment Centre has an exciting opportunity for a skilled social worker to work in a fast-paced live-in treatment centre serving adults seeking support for substance use and concurrent substance use and mental health concerns. These services may include psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions (e.g. support for finances, housing, other treatment), risk screening, counseling, and case coordination. There is also opportunity for group program development in this role. An important element of the position is consultation and collaboration with team members and community agencies. Strong knowledge of the relevant stakeholders and resources for clients seeking housing and financial support for addictions and mental health in Edmonton is critical. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of the application of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care, in addition to the integration of harm reduction principles into their practice. Excellent problem-solving and therapeutic rapport building skills are essential. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Active registration with ACSW. 3-5 years recent social work experience in an addiction and mental health setting. Experience supporting individuals to access relevant housing, treatment and financial supports in the Edmonton Zone (e.g. Strata Health Pathways, AISH, Alberta Works, NNADAP, PDD, contracted residential addictions treatment and housing). Demonstrated ability to incorporate the principles of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and/or anti-oppressive practice into working with individuals living with mental health and substance use concerns. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from a harm reduction perspective. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Highly proficient in the use of Connect Care. Experience in group facilitation would be an asset.
