Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 1 year experience working in Acute Care as a social worker. New graduates with relevant clinical experience may be considered. Effective time management and prioritization skills are required. Conflict resolution and strong communication skills are required. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Knowledge and experience working diverse and marginalized populations using an equity, diversity, inclusion lens. Knowledge and application of trauma informed care. Understanding of the impact of Indigenous people’s history, culture and of reconciliation. Knowledge and application of harm reduction and risk mitigation approaches. Knowledge and ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook required. Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting or standing as well as repetitive movements.
Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience with Connect Care preferred. Completion of a Master’s degree in Social Work preferred. Experience working in the ER as a Social Worker preferred. 5 years’ experience working in an acute care setting preferred. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Previous experience working in Mental Health, or with Mental Health Assessment an asset.
