Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:To be considered for this position, candidates must have a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree or a Master's of Social Work, along with current registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW), including authorization to perform restricted psychosocial interventions. CPR (BLS-HCP) and NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification are also required. The role demands strong professional judgment in decision-making, initiative, effective time-management skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with healthcare team members, patients, and their families in a fast-paced hospital environment. While recent experience in both acute inpatient and outpatient psychiatry is preferred, candidates with 1-2 years of recent experience working with Eating Disorders patients and their families/supports will be given preference. Skills in psychiatric assessment and crisis intervention are also essential.
Preferred Qualifications:3-5 years' experience in a mental health setting is strongly preferred. Excellent communication and self-management skills are ideal. Knowledge of concurrent capable practice and recovery-oriented care is valuable. Familiarity with community resources and the ability to navigate the healthcare system, particularly within the AMH context, are seen as significant assets. Past experience with varied computer programs (i.e. Connect Care) is ideal.
