Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of experience within the health care system. Candidates will demonstrate a high degree of independence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, an ability to prioritize workload. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge and ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Meditech and Connect Care.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in an interdisciplinary team environment is preferred. Understanding of aging and chronic disease process, palliative care, etc. Knowledge of relevant legislative Acts and experience with Guardianship, Trusteeship, Personal Directives and capacity assessment processes is an asset. In-depth knowledge of Income Support programs at a community/provincial/federal level (AISH, Alberta Works, CPP, OAS, ASB) is preferred.
