Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience working with complex populations, specifically mental health and addictions. Knowledge related to the various issues and challenges associated with the process of changing one's gender identity and how this expresses itself through the different developmental and age-related stages. Demonstrates an ability to manage workload and to complete assessments, documentation and consultations in a timely, effective manner within a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience assessing and responding to risk. Good communication skills, written and verbal. Experience working on an interdisciplinary team within a health care setting. Awareness of related resources and community services. Experience working in health and mental health settings. Completion of Brain Story Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Psychosocial Intervention through ACSW. Experience developing and leading group programs. MPATH training or awareness. Experience working within the transgender population and community. Experience with developing and delivering education sessions for other professionals, as well as consultation and capacity building tasks as necessary. Knowledge of resources and services available in Calgary and surrounding areas to support transgendered clients and (where appropriate) their families.
