Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year experience working in Acute Care as a social worker. New graduates with relevant clinical experience may be considered. Previous experience working in Mental Health, or with Mental Health Assessment required. Effective time management and prioritization skills are required. Conflict resolution and strong communication skills are required. Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. Ability to problem solve and demonstrate critical thinking skills is required. Knowledge and ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of a Master’s degree in Social Work Preferred. Experience working in the ER as a Social Worker preferred. 5 years’ experience working in an acute care setting preferred. Authorization to perform psychosocial interventions preferred. Non-violent Crisis Intervention training preferred. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills training or equivalent preferred. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Previous experience with Connect Care preferred.
